Home-based therapy occurs when a therapist provides counseling in a person's home rather than in the therapist’s office or through online platforms. I chose to offer this service because some clients have been unable to get to an office or access the internet. Factors that could keep someone from getting to an office or online include money issues, age, medical challenges or a disability, lack of transportation, personal crisis, and mental health diagnoses such as social anxiety, agoraphobia, or debilitating depression. Home-based sessions are also beneficial for caregivers of children or others, preventing them from leaving their loved ones.
The therapeutic relationship may develop more quickly when treatment is provided at home. This is because people in therapy can be more relaxed in their homes than in an office. Instead of relying on self-reporting, I may get deeper insights from seeing how and where you live. As a result, effective treatment can progress, and healing may happen more easily.
Because of travel times and maintaining timely sessions with other clients, I offer home-based therapy services to the following zip codes: 95008, 95030, 95032, 95117,95118, 95119, 95120, 95123, 95124, 95125, 95126, 95128, 95129, 95136.
